NextMove India Parent Guide · Practical ideas for home and live learning
There is no single “perfect” age for every child. The useful question is what kind of English exposure matches the child's age, confidence and current speaking environment.
Ages 3–5: sounds, words and playful communication
At this stage, activities can focus on listening, phonics, vocabulary, simple phrases and playful conversation. Short activities with repetition usually work better than long academic sessions.
Ages 6–8: conversation becomes more structured
Children can gradually move from naming and repeating to describing, answering questions, telling stories and speaking in complete thoughts. Reading and phonics can continue alongside conversation practice.
Look at confidence, not just marks
A child may know many English words but still hesitate to speak. Parents should look at whether the child can express an idea, ask for clarification, participate in conversation and recover after making a mistake.
What should parents look for in an online class?
- Age-appropriate activities rather than one curriculum for every age.
- Regular opportunities for the child to speak, not only watch.
- Small, clear practice tasks between lessons.
- Simple communication with parents about the learning journey.
- A teacher who can keep young learners engaged online.
How NextMove India groups learners
NextMove India's early communication programs are designed around age groups, including Tiny Talkers Phonics Club for ages 3–5 and Smart Speakers Story World for ages 6–8. The current structure includes two learning classes plus one practice class each week.
The right starting point depends on the child's needs and current level. Parents can use a demo to understand the classroom experience before enrolling.
